Water
An abundance of freshwater is found in the rivers, lakes and wetlands of the Taiga in Canada. In the winter, plants can find it difficult to absorb water when the ground freezes. Enough accessible water is essential to enable plants and animals in the Taiga to survive. An example is the conifer having thin needles with a waxy coating to prevent water loss through transpiration. |
